  • Bala,
I came in to ask if you were able to download Parandhaman's interview(link given days back) and coincidentally you made this post!
The interviewers were quite naive and too excited to ask intelligent questions but still, Thalai was patient and gave it such a homely touch(all in his impeccable tamil to boot).

  • Saw it for the n'th time where n->infinity.
Btw, what does he seek to mean in lines 3 & 4... That "Sivam" alone (and not anbu) is important for athigam pesum adiyar and the reverse holds good for nathigam pesum nallavar? (yen athigam pesravaa ellarum kettavala enna?)
Didn't quite catch the meaning... Can you at least explain? :)

  • Keerthi,
Unga creativity ku oru "O"! :)

    Viji,
    Good question.
    1. For Athigam pEsum adiyAr, the ULTIMATE is Sivam , the rest come next but for nAthigam pEsum nallavar, ANBU comes first, that is their GOD.
    2. ANBU and SIVAM are one and the same
    3. The former see ANBU in SIVAM, the latter see SIVAM in ANBU
One of my cousins remarked about the movie, "Anbe Sivam can be interpreted in n number of ways and thats the beauty of the film"

  • Bala,
The link is gone now. Do you have access to a fast connection(20-30Kbps) at home/work? If so I can upload the interview for you.

Have you ever heard of Ram Guha's book
    http://www.hinduonnet.com/thehindu/2001/01/21/stories/1321017h.htm

Bangalore is disappointing for old books(only one is Blossoms at Church St on St.Marks Road) but if you can hunt in Gosha/Moore Market you might get a cheap copy. It will be a fascinating read I bet. If you can read Chomsky, Guha is definitely readworthy - his writing style is like IR BGM and you will go never tire of it.
