Welcome

When Manmohan Singh shakes George Bush's hands and gives him a hearty welcome, representing all of us insignificant children, this bloody nation of ours will wince collectively. The elitist minority will sit smugly and nod in satisfaction. How would Hitler have been received, i wonder. Osama maama, you make your presence felt when we least need it but where are you now? What kind of welcome does the most dangerous and notorious war criminal heading the most notorious and dangerous hegemony deserve? When Dubya touches Gandhi's tomb, it will be much worse for the Mahatma than it is when a pigeon takes a dump on him. May his soul rest in piece and quiet. Life goes on...

  • i too hate bush and like arundhati (thalaivi madhiri dhaan)

that apart is it not odd that arundhati has an opinion on everything under the sun but nothing so far on the cartoon controversy?

we all know abt bush's double standards, but what abt the protestors double standards?

where were they when ppl were beheaded, budhist idols smashed, bombs were hurled on innocents in the name of religion?

    why no protests then?

  • PK,
    1. If you didn't read her comments, it doesn't mean she never said it or condones it
    2. Even if she hasn't gone public denouncing all that you've listed, you can't go around asking people to comment on everything happening.
    3. Read her books/articles before you complain
    4. If it's bomb throwing for "them" it is burning alive and lynching for "us"

    Tamizhan,
"Love him or hate him, he is sucking up to India. Cant deny that makes me proud of my country :)"

Aren't you being way too naive?? :)

  • Unfortunatley i've read her 'Algebra of infinite justice' and other articles in zmag along with chomsky's.so its not that i am talking without knowing anything abt her...

    i admire her courage.

if BJP, sangh parivar is wrong so is jihad fundamentalism. And yeah i expect my favorite writer to talk abt certain issues. i expect her to come out vehemently against certain topics the same way she talks abt pokhran and MNCs...
