  • Bala,
I personally rate "Vaanam Keezhe vandhal enna" from TTT higher than Ilamai Itho Itho.....The orchestration is amazing....In guitar Prasanna's article in Raajangahm...he calls it Raja's Magnum Opus....
But purely for the kick of the song I guess III rates higher than the rest....No wonder it still continues to be the most favourite New Year song decades after its release..

The movie was a colossal hit in Madurai and for a few months I woke up to songs from this movie, other than of course listening to it in all the tea stalls near bus stands.

BTW, I remember reading somewhere recently that one of these new director idiots asked SPB if he could sing a bit like Tippu !

  • Whole-heartedly agree...Infact it sickens me when people ignore all experimentations of IR. While people talk about 'Punnagai mannan', IMO this one is right up there...

While these couch-potatos hype up ARR's trance in Yakkai thiri/Fanaa.. They are ignorant about Raja's works.. I hope they listen more to stuff like this..

  • randramble,

    Sridhar,
"Vaanam Keezhe" sure is one hell of a song (enna intro) but like you said, III - adrenaline rush... second to none for me :)

    BNB,

    Thilak,
"Infact it sickens me when people ignore all experimentations of IR."
Yes. Without taking anything away from Rahman, IR pannadha experiments-a? We only have to 'look' and listen....

    Just one quote:

    2) He got it spot on when he compared "Oru Kili Urugudhu" and "Then Merku"
