    why harry potter? The kids had fun with first two parts. Cuaron directed third part is a very good movie. 4th wasn't worth the hype..

    Da vinci code-the movie sucked..

    '300' innum pakala..I am a big fan of the comic series and Frank miller..

    LOTR was adapted brilliantly by Peter Jackson.

    Even The shining is called a comedy among Stephen king fans circles. I found the movie to be nothing short of brilliance.

    Book-to-movie adaptations has given us great movies like The Godfather, Fight club, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Trainspotting, To Kill a Mockingbird, Lolita..etc

    Comic adaptations like Sin city, Batman begins are entertaining to watch..why not have adaptations?

    Haven't watched/read any of the aforementioned... and that's immaterial.. Have nothing against adaptations and agree with your list :)

  • oh okay.. naan kooda romba pesitaen about '300' in my blog. konjam adaki pesa solringala? Then I shall agree. Because fan-boys like me, are the ones who hype up! Be it Vijay fans or Frank miller fans.. But I feel the latter deserves the hype..again a humble opinion! Actually, I like Da Vinci code the book..I don't read books (I am totally relegated to comics these days and non-detail books, I read in my school days). Somehow Dan brown's skill to just put his thoughts with simple written English. He doesn't flatter around but still gets the story across..Thats why I like the book. Its a pretty good thriller..Maybe not as good as 'Angels and Demons'..But still 'a fan-boy's rant can be total farce' might apply here..

    No offense taken. Actually I feel being a part of this hype. In fact more than the Frustration against the hypocrites, is the frustration out of being one. Being a FM fan and endorsing '300' without watching it, I am guilty of hypocrisy myself.

  • Hi guys 300 is superb movie not at all boring at any point :)

    300 is better than Sottai Thaatha Rajini or Mokkai Maama Vijay movies :p
