I am still not able to digest this. Doesn't Thalai use his influence with KSR or producer to suggest someone else, especially since the storyline suggests that a Northie feel may not suitable. BTW, what's the final word on who is writing the script for Dasa ?

I was shocked when I heard about it.
But just like Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's intro in Alavandaan(And look at them now), this might be one of his tricks, that he so often pulls out with ease. HR could cut out his nasal diarrhea (neenga vecha term-a idhu?... Superb yet accurate...don't know in which blog I read it), mainly because KH is too smart to let that happen.

ANy word on the final cast,there was talk that apart fromAsin,M.Sherawat&Jayaprada there are 2 more heroines.

That is easily the worst thing about the film.
On another note, I wonder, for goodness' sake, why Kamal said that this film should get a response 10 times bigger than Aboorva Sagodharargal! I mean, Aboorva Sagodharargal, really? (Of course, if the statement was just from the management side of Kamal, I can understand.)

According to one source, ARR was forced to opt out because of a certain fundamentalist Islamic org not being happy with Rahman doing the music - Dasa has some Vaishnavite song/verses, as incredulous (idhukku munnadi avar andha madhiri neraya pannirukkaaru) as it may sound..
Why Himesh? - Apart from Rahman, nobody from here has a market up North.. That seems to be the reasoning...

About the Saran film - Saran had narrated 3 stories to Aandavar earlier it seems.. one of those was a 'children's story'
