Kali Kaalam

A psycho guns down people. The world sits up, questions are asked. Debates rage on over gun-control, Bush etc. People are 'shocked' when the act itself should never have come as a surprise. A country's been raping every other country it can regularly, relentlessly and consistently- a country founded on genocide. Gun control?? Funny talking about gun control in a country which is the only one in the planet to have used a nuclear bomb. Two of 'em. Its already targeting another 'victim'. Nobody gives a shit.

  • Wonderful..you just said what I wanted to.. no one can match Soonapaana in writing with substance, style and sarcasm.

You hit the nail on the head when you said, "People are 'shocked' when the act itself should never have come as a surprise."

Although Cho was against rich kids. It's metaphorically against USA who prey on other countries and suck others wealth.

  • you are all overreacting guys. Cho doesn't reflect anything on the US foreign policies and vice versa :) People going berserk is something universal.

  • //only one in the planet to have used a nuclear bomb. Two of 'em.//

For long I thought it was done on the same day and never done again because it's effects proved so damn terrible and that it was an overkill (excuse the terrible pun).

I was a good severalteen when I realized it happened over 3 days. Imagine dropping, knowing how civilians got roasted like never before in history. And then coolly tossing another in 2 days time. That's revolting !

    Welcome back!

    ttm:
Strange dichotomy, isn't it - Americans are prob. one of the nicest people in the world, but as a state they morph into unpleasant beasts. In India, the state makes lots of noise about peace and non-violence, and the people are well ...

    TTM,
"Cho doesn't reflect anything on the US foreign policies and vice versa :)"
Totally agree. Its not about what Cho meant or what his motives were. Cho's actions have nothing to do with foreign policy or whatever

"People going berserk is something universal"
Yes, but they go berserk only selectively. The world is obliviously to a lot of other crap happening, on a much bigger scale and frequency. Ignorance, indifference, apathy, indoctrination and what not.
It doesn't make sense to see people going "How could it happen? America such gun-happy country. We should have gun control laws implemented". I mean what ever happened to perspective and sense of proportion. Like its a "new" development. When have they not been weapon and war hungry? The reaction is immediate and widespread. Its like the India Fashion Week or Abishek wedding versus farmer suicides (mmm.. that's a bad analogy).

    msp,
    1) Ada yengappa poneenga?! remba naala alaye kaanum?

    2) Yes, revolting and scary. Some of the statements made by their statesmen would be even more revolting. And whether its nuclear bombs or napalms or agent orange, the intent and attitude is the same and they exactly know what they want.

  • @TTM,

haha...I was just using this Cho's outburst as a metaphor of my hatred against USA. He was just against the 'debauchery' and 'Rich kids'. Another big implication is, Christ's crucification (pure masochism) has 'inspired' Cho (in his case its extended to sadism and finally does a Christ shooting himself) from the evidence of his videos and other artifacts (if I may say so).

Charles Whitman case is another interesting scenario.
